Is it possible to use an S trims 93 Mustang Blower on a '98 LS1??? I'm not possitive on the year. I was told that I would just have to buy a conversion kit and it should work find. Anybody know for sure?

an s-trim is an s-trim, doesnt matter what car it goes on, only thing that matters is the tubing that comes with it.

So do they make conversion kits to convert the superchargers over or do you have to make the tubing. Where could I get it from? Thanks.

You would need a kit basically... the blower bracket, the piping etc.

Where would I buy the kit from? Also what kind of HP do you think I would get out of this set up compared to buying a $5000 Vortech setup?

Well I think an S-trim can make more power than the G? trim that comes in the base LS1 kit. But I have no idea how you would buy the bracket and piping unless you went thru Vortech and let me say that their brackets are like $1k.

What other mods am I looking at? What size injectors, fuel pumps? Bottom end? Right now I have the TR230 CAM, 987 springs, c-moly rods, ported heads, all bolt-ons & suspension. 4.11 12-bolt. Thanks for all the help Pro Stock John, I'm hoping to be competing in the power adders class this spring.

Bigger intank pump and 42 lb injectors would make sense, a non 'cooled S trim can go like 6-7 lbs of boost right?

Just talked to Vortech... they said it was a no go. The T-trim would put out soooo much boost on an LS1 motor that it would blow on the first pass. The need for air is less on an LS1 so the blower has to be much smaller. In order to make it work I would have to custom fabricate a gigantic pulley. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

But wait a second... Is Vortech just trying to make more money??? I've talked to a couple of GM Mechanics that say they think it will think. Keyword here...THINK.

is the S trim, and the G trim similar blower shapes? How about the A trim.

Wondering, because i have the brackets for the Vortech G trim for the LS1, but no headunit, if the A trim could be used or the S trim from a stang, i know where to get those cheap....

Ryan.

This blower I believe is an S trim in an A trim case. Made for street racing.

Slow you might be able to make an S-trim work with that bracket call up Vortech and see if the blower housings are a different size or have different inlet/outlet features.

98WS6 I might be doing a GP for custom blower brackets, might end up being like $750 a person for the bracket it won't ever be cheaper than that. Plus you still need piping, we are going to custom fab piping for me so I can run a intercooled YS trim.

I just called Vortech again and they told me a different story now... It is a completely different blower. I wish I could get a straight answer. Has anybody actually ever attempted this?

You need an aftermarket bracket to allow it to bolt up. Then custom tubing, blow off valve, fuel system, tuning etc.
I would also consider a water/alky kit and tuning on the dyno
Cheers,
Chris

S trim might fit G trim brackets.
S trim is good for 6-10 lbs of boost it's fine for your car.
T trim will not fit in stock G/LS1 brackets.
T trim is good for 15-20 lbs of boost.
YS trim will not fit in the G trim brackets.
YS trim is good for 20-25 lbs of boost.

Would this set up work with the cam: 230/224 .575/.563 111 LSA

What would be an optimal cam for this blower?
What about heads, I was planning on LS1 ported but I noticed some people go with 6.0L heads with a blower.

I bought the brackets cheap off ebay, and was going to guy that $500 blower on the classifieds when it was here, but it sold before i could scrounge up the cash.

Pro Stock John,
Who is custom fabricating your piping? What's it gonna cost?

What would I run with this blower on a stock car with all bolt-ons, suspension, exhaust? HP? I also have a TR230 Cam sitting here which I was going to install but I don't know if it would work with this setup.
