Pro Stock John,

Do you think that the S Trim will work on my car? Or do you think it will be too much boost? What is a YS Trim?

Keep me posted on your GP.

Slow, I'll ask my Vortech contacts today about which other head units fit in that bracket. I should edit my S-trim comments, an S-trim is good for 6-15 lbs of boost but realistically 10-12 lbs would be the most boost that folks would be able to get out of one.

Slow, I might ask you a favor, if you have a digicamera, maybe you can take some pics of the bracket and measure up some stuff for me...

At the very least, for us to run a Vortech we would need:
-blower/head unit
-brackets
-crank balancer/pulley
-blower pulley
-oil lines for cooling
-inlet/outlet piping
... And probably other stuff.

If anyone would be seriously interested in a YS, T, or S trim bracket let me know and I will see about getting a GP price but I will require a deposit to pay for the bracket materials. Bracket will include tensioner pulleys too.

sure no problem, i will take the bracket to my friends with a digicam, and take some pics.

Let me know what measurements you will need.

A friend has a A trim laying around from a stang, and from what i understand about the A to S trim conversion on a stang, its just unbolt A and bolt in S. So im assuming they are the same shape. I will do more research into this, and may try to bolt his A onto my car, to see how it fits.

the discharge on a LS1 kit is straight, and the A/S from a stang uses a curved 90degree output. So thats the first drawback.

I understand that vortech can change output piping for $260 and you have to send it to them.

Does Vortech have to change the discharge or can we do it ourselves?

im sure you could do it yourself, as i think thats not a precision part that would effect the balance of the blower, however, as far as i know, vortech will not sell the straight output piece uninstalled, call their tech line to find out for sure.

That's probably right SLOW because the charger I'm buying is an S Trim in an A Trim Casing. Find out if your brackets will work with that set-up and let me know.

Pro Stock John: I am going to look/buy the blower tomorrow so I am definitely interested in the brackets.

My Stang friend said that most S-trims from Stands use that 90 degree bend.

What part are you wanting me to ask about?

I am going to use a straight outlet YS trim.

Anybody know what kind of ET and HP I would expect out of this blower with a TR224/227 cam and Stage II heads???

ask if you can buy the straight output for the S trim. and if so, cost

And if it can be installed by an average joe, or is that one of the tight tollerence parts that vortech "really needs" to install.

you dont 'need' the straight to make it work, but if you look at the rest of the V9 G trim kit, thats how it works, so it would be the easiest solution, as shown in this pic.

just talked to somebody, and found out that the bolt pattern on the V9's and the S/A trims are different, as the V9 is a smaller blower

So i dont think this will work, i'll still try to bolt the bracket i have to the A trim to find out, but after reading some of vortechs site, they comment on the V9 being a compact blower as well
