I would go to the dual 340 intank setup that is now available from Racetronix

More then likely you'll have to give them a call. I don't think their page is up to date. I know they make a dual pump 340 setup.

There have been cars that have gotten 550rwhp just by using one 255L inline pump..

When I do my motor I plan to push the fuel system I have now and see if it will provide enough..

I have a 255 inline and a 255 intank

Yes, I have hit 530 without running out of pump, but I know I'm going to go past that with the rebuild . . . so I need MORE!!!

Default Beyond 550rwhp - Help With Fuel System

I'm sure this question has been asked before . . . I have an Incon TT on my '98 SS with 42lb injectors and LS1-Edit . . . am rebuilding bottom end soon and want to know what I need to do to go past 550rwhp, which I'm told is the limit of the in-tank Walbro 340. What else am I gonna have to do to have it keep up?

Thanks!

Since you have a '98, if you have the metal tank, you're in business.

Racetronics will put TWO pumps in your Sender, and use Plug&Play harnesses/wiring... no fabrication on your part. It is supposed to be good to 700 RWHP with stock lines, 800 RWHP with upgraded lines. One pump runs during normal ops, the other kicks in under load conditions. That saves the pumps and keeps from heating the fuel up too much.

They do the deal thru Agostino, who has to make 700 RWHP blown and nitrous 400+ cuber motors work, so this is a custom solution that will take two weeks to get returned to you. Email Agostino and Racetronics for the price. I don't know if I can post it here.

This is my plan... I hope I can get the money up soon.

Try the 340GSS with a KenneBelle Boost-A-Pump. It'll give you 50% more capacity. It brings the supplied voltage to 17.2V, which runs the pump quicker. Doesn't hurt the pump, but it's good for 510L/H, which I think is good to around 800RWHP.

OK, why would I want to go with a dual-pump setup if the boost-a-pump works just as well???

Thanks for the help guys!!

I paid a nominal fee for the B-A-P, and then I got the Walbro 340GSS for $89. Now I've spent in the neighborhood of $280 and I've got 510LPH. If I go to the dual later, I'm at 850LPH (one 340 with B-A-P, plus another 340) for an additional $89, totaling $360 and a little fab work. In the meantime, I haven't spent the $500 buy-in for the dual.

Just my 2c.

duel pumps (in my case 2 external pumps 450L), 42lbs injectors, #10 feed line, #6 return line, high flow fuel rails, high flow fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, and a tank the will accept the larger fuel lines (or modify the stock one)

The way I understood it is that the 42# injectors would be the limiting factor...just before the pump would be. So, I think that if you kept those injectors, you'd be fine with the Incon supplied pump.

42's at our fuel pressure are bigger and therefore work. True 42's at a lower fuel pressure might be getting maxed out for 550rwhp. SC'd setups require more injector than NA (but I don't know why and I'll ask friend to post why)...

If it were me I'd get the biggest injectors I can get that can be calibrated to idle, ie 50's or 55's.

Yea, I just got those 42's a few months ago thinking they would be fine . . . but I also had in mind putting on a water/alky kit, as that can take some of the load off of my fuel requirements . . .

Don't see how you guys can afford to "get by" with a fuel system. One thing is for sure, you go lean with forced induction, kiss your motor goodbye

This is no area to skimp

I can tell that 42# injectors are not a factor for me. Now this is an assumption my part, but most people do not run the larger fuel lines and rails. The problem with that is there is not enough volume getting to the injectors. The pressure may or may not be there depending on the pumps, but you have to have both (volume and pressure) to make it all work. There is a guy at the shop now who has 42# injectors a better fuel pump but he still has fuel issues. He does not have the high flow rails or the larger fuel lines. It is all stock except for the injectors and pump. To give you an idea how big my fuel feedline is, the # 10 line is as big as a garden hose, literally, and believe me the Formula drinks gas like a dehydrated mad man in the Mohave desert.

OK, well I thought a dual-pump setup was a good idea, but you guys are saying we're skimping. So what do I need to do then?
