Default Chance At Stock Short FI Record???

Here is the story:

Sometime last year I twisted the output shaft on my M6. I really wanted to run the car at Hangover Nationals at LACR on the 1st, so I took it with the twisted shaft. On my last pass the car ran a 11.101 @ 127.xx with a 1.67 60’ with 26x10.5x15 ET Drags at 10psi, on 8.5psi of boost (keep in mind that this is a ‘2640 elevation track). The vibration with the twisted shaft was pretty bad, so after the event I took the M6 out of the car, had it repaired, and sold it to a board member here. Everyone that I spoke with kept telling me that I would continue to twist shafts…

In the next week (hopefully) I will be installing the following:
-TH400 w/ trans brake
-Gear Vendor Overdrive
-3400 Stall
-Harlan 2-Step

After the install I am going to take the car back to the track with everything the way that it was, with the exception of the drivetrain changes (no tuning changes and no weight reduction, etc.) I plan on leaving on the brake under full boost (8.5psi) and with the auto I will keep boost in between the shifts. I am figuring the car should be good for at least 10.6s with the changes that I have made…and the lack of power loss due to the vibration that I had with the twisted shaft. I also plan on using the Gear Vendor Overdrive on the shifts, so I will be going 1, 1 OD, 2, 2 OD, 3….

What do you guys think that I will run at the same track? Think that I will be able to get close to the stock shortblock FI ET record (10.3s I believe)?

Thanks,

Scott

Scott,

Leaving off the brake will help alot if the car can handle it suspension wise. I would say you have enough MPH to support that ET, but we are talking about Palmdale here. The track prep blows and with the dust all over the track it really sucks. I go to that track and hate it. I think 127 at Palmdale is pretty nice, what else have you done to the car besides boost?

Lol, here is the 'short' answer to that question:

-Incon Stage I TT kit.
-ARE Stage II heads (2.08/1.6) not milled (this set of heads were from a time when ARE was notorious for screwing up the valve job on their heads, so they need to be gone through again...Richard at West Coast Cylinder Heads is going to do this after the trans is in and benchmarked)
-Cam Motion Custom Cam 218/218 .518/.518 114 LSA
-Ford 9" w/spool & 35 spline axles.
-8pt Wolfe Cage
-Global West LCAs
-Spohn Torque Arm
-Global West Panhard
-Eibach Drag Launch Kit
-HAL adjustables all around
-PA tubular K-member & A arms
-LS1Edit & FJO Wideband

I think that covers the 'major' items I am also interested to know how much power you can lose due to a bad driveline vibration? My car vibrated so much with the twisted output shaft that my girlfriend was sorry when I took the M6 out
