Default NOS or Water/ALKY?

What would be a better option to cool the intake charge. I small shot of nos, lets say 20-25 shot or a water/alky kit?

i just went thru the same delima and decided on nitrous. you can see my times in my signiture, a little 35shot gave me .5sec in a heavy truck. i like it alot. i can't really comment on the water/alkey injection but i did do alot of research on it and it looks like it might just be a pain in the *** to get it all figured out. with the nitrous kit you are gaurented results. during my research i found several people that gave up on the water injecton, they had a hard time geting it to perform. i also found alot of people that swear by the kit.

if you have a centrifugal blower a small shot especialy out of the hole would help you a TON. help level out your torque curve. i have a whipple that makes instant boost so a 35shot is a bit of a risk, i see all my boost as soon as i floor it. i will be trying a 50shot soon i think.

the nitrous isn't combustiable at all but it is super cold, the fuel you add along with the nitrous is combustiable though.

i can see your point about cheating with the nitrous, if more people had documented results with the water/alkey injeciton i probably would have went that route. lots of people talk about using it but it is hard to get any numbers out of them. good luck and be sure to report your findings.

I think Iam going to go the alky method. I have always seen NOS as cheating. Plus since Iam running stock internals I dont want to add a super combustible gas into my intake charge.

Nitrous doesnt become oxygen until 572*F, so it isnt flammable straight out of the bottle.. Im running 30 shot on my T-charged TA... I dont use to cool the intake, because in turn, with a turbo, it heats the intake because you EGTs go up and heat the turbo another 200-300*F.. I use my NAUS to bring my 60fts down and as a cheater for illegal activities..

I consider NOS as cheating because it is not something that you have all the time. When you have a blower/turbo you have boost on demand. Its always there.

It is fair to use. Iam not saying you shouldnt use it. Its your choice what power adder you choose. I just chose boost instead.

I consider NOS like a trick mod. You use it when you have to. You dont go around town spraying at every stop light. Its the trick up the sleeve.

I guess I think that way because I have gotten beat badly by a couple eclipses and talons when I used to have my old dodge stealth. I would jump 3-4 cars infront of these guys then all of a sudden they fly by me with fire coming out of the exhaust.

Nothing against nos its just not my preference.

Water/Alky injection isnt always there either.
With NOS and water/alky you still need to fill the tank!!!

Yeah you are right. In both cases you have to fill a bottle. But in my case iam going to have to fill the windshield washer fluid resevoir. I plan to tap diectrly into the resevoir with a T this way I have allot bigger tank and I dont have an ugly bottle hanging around my engine compartment.

I would have gone NOS if I had forged internals. But since I have a stock bottom end I wanted to stay away from nos because that could be very dangerous. Running boost + NOS + stock lower end = could equal disaster

I once saw a site that had excellent water/alky injection components ranging from mild to wild - wild being a spray that can eliminate the need for an intercooler for thoes cars that can't fit one anywhere.

They had setups for both single and twin turbos and they also manufactured an aluminium tank that would replace the rear bumper (under the facia of course) on a C4 vette

anyone know who this company may be? that rear bumper tank is a great idea to save space and distribute the weight, just hope that person who hits you on your rear has good insurance
