Re: wastegates internal or ex? Internal and external wastgates to the exact same thing, they allow the exhaust gas to by pass the exhaust turbine, so the turbo doesn't spin any faster.
I have never seen an internal wastgate on anything but little turbos. I wouldn't want a small wastgate on a v8, you probably end up with allot of overboosting. Go with an external setup.
