Default need some supercharger info

well i think im ready for a supercharger.(damn cobras) i am just so unsure on what to get. i know vortech has been on the market for a while and has a decent reputation. i have heard good and bad on ati.( bearings, leaks, etc) i havent really heard anything on powerdyne though. from what i know they are new to the supercharger world.(is that true) i am temporly stationed in california and the highest octane at the the local pump is 91. also the car is a stock ss. i defintly have more prospective gains for the car when i move back to illinois here in 6 months. any ideas would be gladly appreciated. sorry about the length. thanks

I've got a procharger. I've had it for around 2 1/2 years, and have had no problems. I'm no supercharger guru, but feel that prochargers are a great charger for the money!

You asked about Powerdyne. They aren't new to the Mustang world. I was one of if not the first person to put one on an LS1. If you want to read about my experience with Powerdyne go to my website. I have a page dedicated to Powerdyne. Go to my Camaro page, scroll down my list of add ons to Powerdyne. Click on the 'page' link.

In a nut shell and feel free to correct or add to this.

ATI -

Pros: Nice Whine, Self contained Oiling system, does not require you tap your oil pan or run an oil line.
Produces about the same power as vortech but does it more efficiently. Twin Intercoolers.

Cons: Most of the good parts are hidden, Not as complete as the Vortech. You need to purchase Injectors, Fuelpump and tuning seperately.

Vortech - Aftercooled

Pros: Complete kit, Injectors, Inline FP, Tuning. Kit is Showoff ready by being completely visible under the hood, produces good power on an otherwise stock engine. Noticeable whine (non-SQ) Air to water Aftercooler can be iced down at the track.

Cons: Much harder to install, Relocate PS Pump, Tap Oil Pan, Oil Feed Line.

PowerDyne -

Pros: least expensive kit, 6lbs of boost, very quiet for stealth applications, No oil lines to run or pan to tap, comes with inline FP & tuning.

Cons: No bypass valve, no whine, typically produces the least power of the 3 kits, no intercooler options available. Like the ATI this system is hidden from view for the most part.
