UPS... ARGH!
18 days later UPS calls me and says, "Are you having a problem with the delivery of your package?"
(The third of three which contains part of my LS1 Motorsports turbo kit)
Me: "Uh... You haven't delivered it to me. Um, I guess that's a problem. Don't you think?"
UPS: "We're very sorry for the inconvenience. We'll process a claim. Please choose UPS for all your shipping needs... <CLICK!>

have you started on any part of the install yet?
whats in the third box? and what was in the first two?
did you get one of the old manifolds or waiting for the new one?
hey at least they called you.

I sent my manifold (with w/g and exhaust housing) back to Rob. It got there last Friday. He was just finishing the install on LaRocca's (sp?) car. He said if he gives the nod to it, the fab shop will start blasting them out, and Rob should be seeing them this Friday.
I guess, since I was dead-stinking-last to get my kit, I'll be seeing that manifold around May. I hope not, though. I've got Detroit Speedworks patiently waiting, and if it doesn't happen quickly, the "Spring-Rush" will box me out until mid-July.
How's it going for you? Did you go with the (D)Ed Wright guess programming, or are you doing your own?

SS, you say that you may get shut out for quite some time from detroit speedworks...do you have any idea how long they are booked for? if its bad already i might need to make an appointment now.

Greg said he'd work me in, but you know how long people wait to get their cars on the road in spring, and then they want them NOW, NOW ,NOW!
I'm just afraid it's going to go badly for me, just like the rest of this journey has seemed.
I would, however, get your appointment in to Greg, now, Now, NOW!

I'm slipping into disappointment here.
Maybe he's just too busy with the Cobra, now(?)

Mightymouse, your kit was shipped as soon as we had the parts in hand, as you requested. SS00Blue requested to receive his kit in separate shipments, knowing it may be a week or two before the manifold, turbo, and WG are ready to ship. Doing this makes it more difficult for us, but not a problem.
I can assure you that we have very good documentation to each and every part that was shipped. Each package was insured accordingly. Don't worry, I will personally see to it that everyone receives all of their parts, as well as precise instructions.
I will say however, that UPS lost about 4 of our packages over the last 2-3 weeks. (only one being turbo kit related)
BTW, haven't touched the Cobra or raced even raced it since last November. The turbo kits by far have gotten the most of my attention.
Have a good weekend.

I sent you back the manifold/turbo (exhaust housing)/wg combo. I didn't ask for any kind of a seperate shipment. Maybe you're thinking of someone else?
In spite of being quoted as "in the first five kits to be sent out," I did say that it wouldn't be a problem if I got my kit farther down the list. As it turned out, there was only my kit and two T74 kits left to be sent, and it was mine that hit UPS as number ten. That's according to your own staff.
It's all good Rob. The car is now on stands and as far as it can go without the manifold assembly (and the exhaust pipe that UPS lost). I'm just waiting on you guys, now.
I'll be posting the results when it's tuned at Detroit Speedworks. So far the kit has been of the highest quality and easily installed.
One question though. As the lower tab on the I/C is off by 1/2" for the lower mount on the hood latch bracket, should I redrill?
Also, since the lower hole for the hood latch bracket is held out 1-1/2" from the crossmember mounting hole because of the I/C being there, how do I reattach the lower mount for the hood latch bracket, or should I even bother?
Thanks,

Possibly it was supersp0rt I was talking about?? Sorry.
Anyway, regarding the bracket on the IC. It appears that Spearco may have been off by 1/2" on the lower bracket. We noticed that on the last IC we fitted. However, it's an easy fix as you said. Just line it up and drill a new hole.
The hood latch bracket gets modified, by cutting off the lower section of it. Not sure if this is what you're asking or not. I have some pics I can email you of the modified bracket if that's what you need. Let me know.
Steve, your kit was in the top five to go out. However, we received more A4 crossover pipes than 6speed crossovers. So we shipped to the people which we had complete kits for at the time. I'm not sure where exactly yours ended up in the shipping order. Sorry for the confusion.

let me clarify above that when i said "the fools are lucky nothing is damaged" i meant the people at UPS, not Rob or his shop. i just read over that and it sounded kinda bad...

Well, I'm packing now and getting ready to leave for vacation. I don't know if I'll be checking in on the message Boards anymore before I leave. And I won't have access at all during the upcoming week. So as I said, if you have any specific questions, just give the guys at the shop a call.
I'll talk to you all in about a week.
I'm outta here....
