Default Blower Cam, for 6.0L 372c.i. motor.....

I need opinions on a cam that would be good for a 6.0L block honed .40 over to 372 c.i.

What duration should I go with, lift, will do 114lsa...

Any ideas, want to be able to make the most power out of this setup...

372 has a nice ring to it doesnt it? How high do you want to spin the motor and how crazy do you want to get with the lift?

Yea, defiently needs a split for F.I., those specs seem a little big though for a 372, but I still don't know what size to go with...

I'd probably run something in the 225 duration range on a 114 if you shift around 6800... maybe 224/230//114.

I don't like the idea of the iron block because of the increase in weight but the increase in bore size would be great.

PSJ - You don't think Brian lost all that weight for nothing do you? It was just to ofset the weight of the block!

Yea, John, didn't you know what my evil plan was, I starved myself, saved all the $ that I didn't eat, and put it towards the iron, I really didn't plan to do iron, but I guess its there for extra security....I'm down to 200 now, compared to what I was at 266 when I ran that 11.6

The parts all got ordered today, sent tom a Downpayment..

Jim is going to see if he can come up with some good specs for a cam for this motor, but I'm still open to opinions on here...

Thanks,
Bos

I wonder how a

224/230 .580/.590 114lsa

224/228 .570/.580 114lsa

These 2 could work

I think those two would work similarly but I was told to stay around a 6 degree split...

I dont buy too much into the split duration because the intake is a restriction. I wouldnt be surprised if single pattern makes the most power.

Yea, I heard about that too John, I do wonder how a single pattern would work though...

I just want a cam thats going to get the most power out of this F.I. motor...

Dug, I will respectfully disagree with you on that, I found that both Comp Cams and Cam Motion suggested traditional split cam grinds for supercharged applications, what is the basis of your stance? I talked to Terry at Cam Motions and Chris at Comp Cams (The guy who designed the XE-R family of cams)...

My only point to the Bosfather is not to go really big in duration because at some point the combo will peak at too high an rpms... A rule of thumb might be to look at NA grinds and add 500 rpms to calculate the peak HP.

Well Bos it looks like ill be doing the bottom of the Auminum block. Over next winter.
I see you made ur choice on blocks. I
can see why you went with the iron block,
no more worries right. Well cant
wait to see the numbers. How much boost
you thinking on running? I wondering
how much I can do on the Aluminum?
Well good luck, and it was nice to
meet ya finally at the Speed Inc. dyno.
