Default Placed an order today for some parts.......

Well don't know what exactly is wrong w/my motor, but when its getting taken apart I'm sure I will find out....Car is going in on April 9th for V8 springs, and a right rear airbag, that was the original install appointment...and was going to have the car inspected and leaked down to see what was wrong..

I have decided to build up a motor, considering I was gonna do it anyways.....I was going to keep the stock block and hone to a 348, but I went by a mans words of "build it, build it right, and be done with it"

So in spite of that...

The motor will be a 9:1 compression, 6.0L honed ".040 over to a 372c.i. motor

Diamond pistons 9:1, Eagle rods, Stock Crank, new LS6 ported oil pump, cometics, ARP head studs, timing chain, ported TB, also going to do the crank pully from ASP 8 rib, and the blower pully 8 rib, going to shoot for 12psi on pump gas..

Look at my other thread for some help on that situation...

But with 12psi what kind of power should I see out of this motor?

Put it this way with my 346 headers, exhaust, cam, and my ATI with 8 PSI I'm at 501 rear wheel HP. I think you will definitely be more than happy with the power of the new motor.

Bigbos I see 600rwhp if you can keep belt together.Your combo is nearly identical to my old combo except I did 10psi made 560rwhp,2 more psi should get you to 600.I wish you the best of luck, hopefully you wont have problems I had with belt-breakage.Car should run 10s with good tire, hard leave 3600-3800lbs race weight.

The car has a TH400 w/3500 converter and T-brake, 27x11.5x15 Hoosiers in the back right now...

Not sure on the race weight, as for reduction...

Slicks/Skinnies
Spare/Jack
Rearseats/belts
A/C
Sway Bar

Not sure how much that is good for, but the iron will add 85lbs to the nose...but the iron is always good for the extra security....

I hope I don't have problems w/the belts as well...I think they shouldn't have a problem at 12psi, but when I get more $ for fuel mods and try and bump to like 17-18psi, then we might have a problem...

I broke belts at 10psi with 6.0 h/c headers 42lb injectors and cutout.I had custom 8-rib pulley setup never got more than 4 passes out of belt.On the street belt life depended on my right foot mellow driving okay put the hammer down snaparoo.Unless my case was a fluke I think alot of guys are putting to much faith in 8-rib to solve design flaw in ATI mounting bracket.Theres what 8-9 inches with no support,at high rpm and boost bracket flexes big-time causing belt to ride up on lip of pulley destroying belt.I hate to sound so negative but this issue drove me nuts for 6 months, enough that I wouldnt go to the track without 3 spares and ramps to get car in the air.I can change belt in 15 minutes had much practice.Just ranting I guess, later.

Well if I really have problems w/it, I will go to a cog setup...I wonder how dyno tuning will go if they keep breaking...

Your saying that the problem is the 8-9in. space with no support.
Bos, I wonder if you could pay Sikora to make a custom braket to mount another pulley on, just to sorta support the belt a little more? We'll hafta look at it if you start having that problem as well.....a cog setups a tad pricey.
