How would a 37x ci motor with about a 9:1 compression built for boost run on motor alone, no boost? If this is a stupid question just don't respond and I'll get the point.

Well, assuming you put on a nice set of heads and a respectable cam it should run pretty good. Probably in the 360-390+ rwhp department depending on what heads, cam, and other misc. equipment??? It's kinda hard to judge.

It would really wake up with about 10-12psi though whenever you got around to that. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Interesting, didn't think it would be that low. Heads would be GTP 6.0L and a Thunder Racing camshaft, hydraulic. 6.0L block done 60 over. Diamond boost pistons/rings on lunati rods, stock crank. Longtubes, pulley, all the goods.

390 to 400

Most low compression - built for boost - stock cubed motors that I have seen dyno in the 370-380 range N/A (with the blower intake bolted on mind you. Without the blower intake, it may be another 10 hp.)

There was a guy that goes by the name aliendroid or something like that, from texas. If I remember correctly he was running around on a similar setup waiting on turbos. Would like for him to chime in here if anyone knows him.

Subtract 3% of the power for each point you drop in compression, that can give you an idea.

the engine in my car now
ARE longblock

dropped ring 8.75 compression
pro billet rods
'street' ported heads
stock crank
stock cid
small custom turbo grind cam

had on it at dyno
ls6 intake, ls6 maf 30* max timing
ported throttlebody
1-3/4 longtube headers no cats, random tech catback.

moser 12 bolt. 3.73 gear, m6

301 rwhp.
i was told over the phone that it would probably not make more than 350rw.. they were right <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

but its holding together so far so I can't complain.

What CR do TT MKIV Supras have? They can run a helluva lot of boost on pump gas.

Well I have a 372 c.i. on order...9:1 compression on order, going to drive it around on motor for about 1000 miles then throw it on the dyno w/the blower pullies....

MKIV TT Supras are 8.5:1 stock.

I can't see going by MightyMouse's numbers, no offense, but my stock 98 SS M6 did 330rwhp with boltons and no internal work, and I have friends making 390rwhp with 10:1 compression.

With my 348ci motor, which is 9.1:1, I am running stage II 6.0 heads milled to 69cc's and a 230/237/115 cam. I am expecting that I will make over 350rwhp or more with a T400.

well i agree with you! but its not like i can do anything about it.

that dyno was used the same day to dyno stock ls1's around 300rwhp.(lid/catback)

really depends on how well you heads/intake/cam combo is

i know someone with a ford motor with 8.5:1 compression in a 3300lb stang that goes high 11s on motor on low 9s with a T88

Has a good heads/intake/cam

plus you also have to realize that power will be affected on what kind of headers you use as well
