ice water intercooler
I have a intercooled Maqnacharger in my 01 Tahoe. The Magnacharger uses a liquid to air heat exchanger.I'm thinking about adding a flush valve into the lower water hose to my water resevoir so I can drain the heated water and fill the system with ice water between runs at the track. Is there a down side to doing this?Do you guys think I will see a increase in performance?

If you cool that intake air charge, you will see less detonation, which means you can increase boost safely (of course, that's more power <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> ).
You may even see better performance just by cooling the intake air.

Definitely, I have been told that we can get a 1% increase in HP for every reduction of 10 degrees in inlet air temps.
I am doing a custom 3 core air to water intercooler for Project Blowzilla.

Installed flush valve system drains in about 1 min should be able to change heated water to chilled water in less than 5 min.Next trip to the track I'll take a full ice chest and water cooler to see how it works.Maybe this will be a big help in the 90+ degree heat we see on summer nights in Memphis.

Re: ice water intercooler
My temps are't high I'm trying to reduce the forced air entering the engine to below ambient.Water dissapates heat better than antifreeze.I'm adding chilled water to retard the heating process.
