Cool, hopefully that will be big enough to keep the boost down on that GT42 to a reasonable level for that nearly stock motor. That motor is going to be pissed at what life it has left!

Haha I don't mean to scare ya, but that turbo and that kit are pretty serious stuff. I am sure we can keep it down to a reasonable level so it's not breaking stuff.

Your set up is running a Turbonetics 42 WG correct? The 44 on Mike's car should have no problem keeping the boost creep at bay.

I was running a turbonetics racegate, it was a peice of **** and spiked up to 10 psi with the exhaust dump open when it was trying to hold 5 psi. Currently swapping over to a turbosmart to see if that will help some.

How's your car running now? You swap over to MAP yet?

It's running OK so far. Still trying to get the boost to stay lower and not creep, but it made 665 rwhp with only 10 psi/91 oct so far. I will be switching over to a 2/3 bar map sensor setup shortly. I put the MAF in there just to pass emissions a month ago and haven't had much time since then. Eventually I will turn it up and see what it does on race gas.

What spring are you running in the WG? That might be part of the problem.

Tried them all. Also just put the turbosmart on last night and it was actually worse. Hmmm. I wonder if this motor is just so efficient and pushing so much air that the wastegate just can't keep up under 10 psi no matter what.

Well, my next guess would be the placement of your WG. It's in the right location but at a 90deg. angle to the flow making it hard to bleed off pressure under WOT. What size it the tube coming off your merge for the WG? Needs to be at least the ID size you're running for a WG.

Yea, I know that angle is definately a factor but others with this same setup don't have the overboosting problem I am having. The pipe going to the WG is a full 42-44 just like the gate. Oh well, I guess I will just man up and run minimum 10 psi from now on.
