Damn man, I just saw this post today. I've never talked to ya but i've read alot of your post on here and learned alot from your postings. So glad to hear your going to be ok. It must have been scary as hell for all who was involved, I'm always checking the jackstands when I have my car in the air for that very reason. Good luck, have a speedy recovery and get back out there and rip some gears!!

Wish you a speedy recovery, wow, that is something that I have never thought of, I always leave my car in 6th gear, maybe not the best idea.

I think i'll be removing the batt cables more often now, after reading this.

Good luck in recovery. **** like that scares the hell out of me. I have a slight incline in my garage. I had to take the trans out of the Rx7 and had it up in the air. I decided to get some better stands before really cranking on it because it seemed pretty precarious.

Goto breakfast the next morning and giant head line "South Lyon Man Dies when Car Falls on him"....we live in South Lyon...that was it, better jackstands and a few lift.

As far as the starter going....a few years ago I took the Camaro to a Mexican place down in the hood. To be safe we decided to pull the starter relay. If we moved the starter relay around in its socket the car would turn over, no key. If it was in gear it would have moved on its own.

Strange either way and glad to hear your not too badly banged up.

Glad to hear you are OK. I think I'll go double check my jackstands before I get back under.

We were doing some extensive work here in my garage this weekend, replacing the timing chain on a 4.9 caddy. The whole time I was under it I was crossing my fingers and thinking of you. Glad you are OK. EFA and streetsleepers send their prayers and good wishes for a full recovery.

MM good to hear your ok. When Joel saw this before I did I kinda got worried because I know what that is like. Me and my best friend were working on his 94 TA about 2 years back and the same thing happened as with you but there were no front tires on the car and his head was crushed by the engine/kmember. He was in intensive care for about 3 months, at first they never thought he would make it, then thought he would never walk agian. Now he is just legally blind and if he didnt tell you would never know it happened. Its pretty freaky, this is why I am very **** about being under a car and making cars are totally secure on jackstands or on the lift.

Oh and on a side note, my friend that had the car fall on him, even though he cant drive the car, he still has it, still putting money into it and the crazy SOB even still gets underneath it, on jackstands, but they arent them little 3 ton deals, oh no, he went and got some big ol 6 ton stands...

Good luck on your recovery.....
