I believe you can special order your head unit for noise. One of their inspections is a noise inspection. If the head unit is too loud, they put it in a special place, where it is either reworked or sold to someone who wants a loud head unit, assuming the noise has nothing to do with faulty mechanics. I can only assume they can find a quiet head unit threw the inspection process if you order one.

I like both but with a 6speed it was tough to get off the line with the sts thats the main difference I went with the procharger.the sts felt faster because the way boost comes on but with the same psi with the supercharger it seems just as fast.its a big difference off the line now.both are a lot of fun.

I think Mello Yello said that you can get a T-Trim made SQ. Also the Rotex that Wheel to Wheel sells is dead silent (I heard one when I was up there).

Anyone run a Rotex on ls1 f-body? Could i buy an ATI kit minus head unit and throw the Rotex on it?

So the procharger is better off the line than the STS rear turbo kit with a 6 speed LS1?
I figured that so did a few of my friends.
My mind is almost made up on getting a D1-sc procharger, with the 8 Rib SDCE automatic spring tentioner mod.

Unless your on a built motor from what im understanding, about 8 psi is all youd want to run and the standard balancer and what not is fine. Once you get up i nthe boost on a built motor is when youll have balancer issues and belt slippage

even though i would love to have a near silent supercharger i would still buy the one that is most reliable, no matter how noisy it is.

I personally don't think the ATI ProChargers are very loud. I have heard much louder blowers from the top mounted positive displacement types, such as what Ford uses from the factory. Bob

If you are starting out with an ATI ProCharger D-1SC that is the newer eight rib style, you will need a different harmonic balancer right from the start. ATI Performance products makes the balancer required, cost is $475.00.
New for '05 with the D-1SC is one inch thicker intercoolers, helping to keep the inlet air temp's down. Bob

More than likely, nothing is going to match up. Bob

Check out the video above, which can give you an idea of how an ATI ProCharger sounds. Bob

If you're trying to launch off the line with a turbo of anykind you need a 2-step.
