Default Anyone use a TV8101 or simular

Has anybody used a Tv8101 turbo? What engine did you have it on, what power did it make, how did it spool? Thanks

We have used 8101's in the past. Only problem was the A/R is a WAY large. You can cross breed though and use a housing off an 8102 which is a smaller 1.08. The TV series is mostly all Detroit diesel turbos and are heavy and fairly old in design. Most of your typical 8X's are 76-85mm.

BTW, most of the time we use them on BBC and big cube SBC's. Anything less is hard to spool them with.

Thanks. Do they have a T6 flange? You can sometimes find them for real cheap. They would work ok for mocking up. Are they bigger in physical size then say a pt88 or gt42?

Yes T6, and yes they are physically quite large. Bigger then a PT88 and a touch more then the GT42's.

My buds camaro "doo-doo brown" with 355 and dart 230's with 650 blowthrough is running an 8101 with the 1.39 housing (85mm compressor)...just went 5.57 at 130 weighing in at 3350 car and driver....Now this is on a transbrake car and yes it is a little sluggish when not using the brake....like Jose said.....would work decent on a large ci smallblock(400+) Definetly a lot of hp potential.....just made 870 rwhp through the glide...182mph on the rollers with 3.42's

Jose,
I'm sorry i was told it was a tv85 but it is actually on a number of different turbos....

Garret part#'s are as follows:
466008-2
466008-3
466008-4
466038-1
466926-1

and the covers are mostly found on TV8117 or TV8301 ...then i need the backing plate that goes with which ever cover i get...
