My Powerdyne Is Broken...help! Hey Guys...need Some Diagnostic Help.....my 9lb. Powerdyne Is Screwed......the Belt Is Turning And The Pulley Is Spinning....but The Blower Is Not Working.......what Gives? Is My Impeller Busted?
no the internal belt broke, this happened to mine 3 times on my 97 LT1 SS,
than i sold it.
You have to take it off, and send it back to Sma at Powerdyne,
I just , picked up a Paxton Novi supercharger,
I would like to mount it just like the powerdyne, where the cars accessory belt would Drive it.

Back in my mustang days this would happen to my buddy and he just went on ebay and bought the belt for 50 bucks and put it in himself. The belts are very scarse, but they are attainable.

SOUNDS LIKE BULL **** TO ME! Ahh good ol powerdynes....been there done that. I bought the bearings and belts off ebay too. Rebuilding them yourself isn't too bad. The trick is getting the belt hot enough to stretch over the cogs inside the supercharger. Boil the belts in water, and have a second person there to help you "gently force" the belt on the cogs.
Oh yeah were gloves or you'll end up with burnt fingers
Anything smaller than a 2.7 pulley will snap internal belts. I'd go 2.9 at the smallest. Don't run full slicks either, drag radials are cutting it. When the car hooks it shocks the drivetrain and the internal belt takes on for the team when running slicks.

Yes The Powerdyne Is Driven By My 6 Rib Drive Belt. And From What I've Seen, I Can Just Order Myself The Belt And Bearings.....and Re-build It Myself. Hell With Paying Powerdyne That Much To Do That.....i Used To Rebuild "coal Truck" Turbos At Caterpillar , So It Won't Be Bad.
