Default I got the SDCE setup, but i have a question.

I have an 8 rib setup and the SDCE setup looks like a 6 rib. It has 6 grooves in the pulley it has.
SDCE are saying "You have the correct set up...the flat idler that looks like 6 rib is the only one that will fit on there and not have clearance issues....the 8 rib belt should fit just right on there..."

Here are the pics:

In the last pic my hand cover the pulley size, but u still can count 6 grooves in it. Is this what you 8 rib SDCE setup have?

Thanks

Yep that is correct, one pulley has 6 ribs, it rides inside the 8rib belt perfectly.

Nothing to be worried about, all of em are like that.

So this is what the famous SDCE tensioner consists of.
How much was this mod?
What all did it consist of, if you dont mind me asking.
What is the function of there tensoiner wrench how dose it come in to play.

Can you explain the way the belt routes? That tensioner must have a large swing. On top of using a much larger belt.

It took 3 weeks including shipping for me. But the wait did not matter to me because I sent SDCE a new j bracket to work on. That way my car was never down waiting on SDCE .

You bascially send them your bracket and they will add to it the tensioner and the pullies u see in the pics. If you want they can send u a crank pulley and SC pulley too, but i opted to use mine again. So the price will depend on what exactly u get from them, but the full setup price is $675 i think. I have two crank pullies now one 7.65 and one 8.5 and one SC pulley 4.25. The 7.65 and 4.25 gave me 7.5-8psi at 6400RPM while the 8.5 and 4.25 gave me 10.5-11psi, but it bent the idler pulley bolt and the belt was slipping. So that is why i got the SDCE hoping it will fix the problem.

We didnt install it yet... As soon as we do install it will post the pics and belt route.

They need to step up the customer service quality and answer their phone or at least messages. The best way i found to contact them is through PM on this board. It took them 2-3 days to answer, but i got an answer at the least.

Even when they answered the phone I got the run around. I was told several times that she would check on the status and call me right back, not one time did she return my call. I was told a different story every time I called, I told them to send my parts back ASAP three different times.

Chris..

Hope your doing well..

The spring tension setup I'm running is doing great by the way, although you don't like a few things that's on it, it's doing it's job.. 1 thing for sure I like the way my setup provides more belt to pulley contact then the SDCE. The SDCE setup uses about 60% of the crank pulley and 70% of the blower pulley. I believe I'm using 80% Crank pulley and 75% blower pulley. SDCE belts are long, about 52.5 inches I believe, mine again is the 8rib ending in 392. about 39.5" in length... With your skill you could very easy do a setup like SDCE.. Look on their site for a diagram on how the belt is routed..

See you soon with your Meth Jets...

Clint
