T3 with .84 a/r or a T4 with .81 a/r
What would the real differences between these be? both have a p-Trim 64.5mm turbine? This has just been a question floating around my head for a while now, any help would be great.

In theory the T3 will spool very fast but there's a good chance you'll max it out before redline. Go with the T4 and spool a little later but still have room for a great top end. JMO

FWIW I had a turbo manifold on my old civic that let you bolt up a T3 or a T4 footprint turbine. A .68 A/R PT67 P-trim on a T4 frame spooled up the same as a .82 A/R T3/T67 P-trim on a T3 frame, and the T4 version made even more power on the top end. Also, I would never put a single T3 turbine housing on a V8 motor, no question.

T3 will spool quicker, have more backpressure and make a good bit less HP on a 67.
Like Evil said, Supra's are T4, and I personally would not bother running anything less then a T4 on a V8 single setup and preferably a T6 if you plan to make big hp.

I thought Marko told me many of the Surpa guys were running the 67mm/T3 combo. I must be mistaken.
I agree with the above about not using the T3 housing for a single V8 turbo (assuming the T4 or T6 was an option). Now twin T3's on the other hand can be a nice setup.

[QUOTE=eviltwins]None of the supra guys are running a single T3 housing, and they don't make T3 housings in .84 A/R.
The site I was looking at shows a MP t70 with your pick of A/R's T4 .68
T3 with .70 .84 .96?
http://www.turbocalculator.com/map-t...=Garrett%20T70
I'm planing on keeping 346 ci , custom cam that will pass Ca. smog and cats can't be moved. Not a Drag car, well it'll see some weekends maybe, Redline of 6000. 7-8 psi. If the T3 gets maxed out won't the extra backpressure go throught th waste gate??
