waste gates and blow off valves

so im seting up my new system and was wondering what some of you guy thought of each brand and size.

motor is a sbc 350 with 8.5 comp. and ported fastburn heads carrilo rods and scat crank
turbos are 2 masterpower t-70's with .68 a/r's

im just curious on what brands have what problems and such

The TIAL gates can be damaged by race fuel.... they can hang shut.

I also had heard of problems with Tials WG's controlling BIG turbo's when trying to run low boost with them.... so we opted for the Turbo Smart 48mm.
Im running a Tial 50mm BOV but heard awsome reviews on the Turbo Smart also.

Ive also heard good things about the turbosmart products, thats what ill be ordering.

The 38mm units come standard with a shaft sleeve material that is not compatible with the lead in race fuel. They can be ordered with a proper material if you plan to run them on leaded fuel. The larger units don't have the issue.

I had good luck with tial 46's on my old setup, albeit i could only get down to 9 psi or so with the smallest spring in them. Partly due to placement, and partly due to the sizing of my turbine housings. But I was never below that boost pressure anyway so it didn't matter.

We've got a pair of standard sleeve 38mm's on the white car and have no problems. But we know they have to be monitored.

I moved up to a pair of HKS gates for the new setup, since i wanted as much control as possible with the even larger turbos

Tials work well, but like anything, you have to size them properly for the application.

Trying to run 5 psi with an 88mm turbo, for example, is a touchy setup to begin with.
