Its still a 3" pipe with a 3" opening. a 4" straight style tube filter would work just as good for lower 400 450 hp applications and it could be tucked a bit more in. The turbos opening is even smaller .. If the filters saturated with water it isnt gonna flow like its supposed to anyways.

Good to hear man. From what I understand, you can test it too. Pull the sock off, pour water into it, if it goes through at all, it needs more of the waterproof stuff. If it holds water, then your golden. Later.

Its not just one person, or a conspiracy. Lrry93 had the same issue. 3 days after the rain let up here, we pulled his piping to clean the MAF, when we did, we ended up pulling the entire front charge pipe and dumping it out. It probably had about 12+ oz. of water in there.

They should put out a tech. bulletin or something, now that the rain/snow season is approaching for all the noobs like me... spray on some weather protectant or get a shield. Got my shield today but K&N isn't being so punctual sending me my new air filter.

Funny how a high performance company like K&N would have slow output to their cusotmers...
