Default tang or on center

which is better. i have heard tang creates less backpressure, is that true. i have a t74 oncenter and have the opportunity to get a tang housing. should i do it, its a great deal. and will it fit right, going from one to the other. any input would be great.

I'd also like some sound input on this subject as well. I chose to go on-center but I don't know what the real differences are.

Better make sure that you have clearance with the tang housing as it will change the turbo orientation. That's why you cant use a tang housing on the old Q.M.P. kit.

The tangential will definitely make more power. I'd do it but realize that if the headers/manifolds are setup for on-center then the turbo housing may now hit something. If clearance is good the tangential housing is a lot more efficient. May not make a huge difference, but definitely will be a difference.

If it is the same trim then yes. The tangetial flows better but I have seen many setups that make a very sharp turn at the turbine. Makes it sort of a wash between the two if you ask me. On center is much easier to fab especially with twins.

More rare to see a pic of an on center housing on this forum.
