Octane Question

Being as how some of us have to live in california and can't get above 91octane at the pump. Would it hurt anything to put a coupla gallons of 100 race gas with every tankfull? It is a turbo ls1?

Nope... wouldnt hurt. Make sure its unleaded or it will fowl your o2 sensors

What's the minimum recommended octane fuel for superchargers/turbos ?

Depends on your compression ratio... the higher it is the higher your octane must be.

If your running boost you need a good tune, tune your car for whatever is readily available to you.

Minimum octane you should run is as high as you can get, well if you like lots of boost anyways.

I often run leaded fuel in my car, but I have no cats and some denso lead friendly O2's. I just recently found some 110 octane in my area for around $6 gallon. I can get 100 leaded for under $3.00/gallon so I run that stuff quite often for having some fun.

Run an alkycontrol system. Get octane when you need it. Methanol has 100+ (123 if 100%)octane rating and also adds additional cooling to the charge. You can buy it from VP fuels in 5 gallon pails. Just installed mine and am awaiting tune. I should be able to get an extra 20 plus be able to do continuous back to back runs. I live in California too, this is the way to go. Why burn 100 when you are cruising, plus summer heat won't slow you down.
