every body says take the pan off. but i have drilled and tappen one with it on. dunno about that. but go to the drivers side of the pan and just drill and tap as high as you can. im not sure about the size of the drill bit but if you have the tap it has a recomended size on there. and are you wondering about the feed line to the turbo? the place every one uses is above the oil filter. not sure what its called but its held in with two little bolts. just take it off, drill it and tap it as well. some one will chime in with the size of it. good luck

take the extra time to drill&tap w/ the pan off, when you drill it as carefully as possible you'll be frightened at how much shavings still go inside, its not worth it, your gonna need to match up your drill w/ the tap and fittings your useing, what size are they? do a search on install pictures for ls1's, I know there's some good photo's of where everything goes...

I saw an episode of Trucks where Stacy installed a supercharger with the oil pan on. Im not sure exactly what he used but he put something on the drill bit so the metal shavings would stick to the bit. I think it was jsut grease. I would deffinatly research it.

On my brothers car (frcefed98), We didnt have to pull the motor out to remove the oil pan. We unbolted the motor mounts and lifted the motor up as high as we could. It didnt slide right out or slide right back in, but we got it on and off with the motor in the car.

I tapped my pan with it on the car. Bought some spray on glue stuff and slobbered it all over the drill bit. Just take your time. Drill some, clean it off, spray more on. Also had a shock vac on the entire time. Then I changed my oil twice. Haven't had any problems.

I personally pull the pan, not worth the risk just because it's the easy way out. Drop the K-member and jack the motor up a little, not that big of a deal. Make sure you place the fitting high as possible/close to the mounting rail.

I did my oil pan this weekend......but I took it off. I could not believe the shavings that would have gotten into the pan if I had not. Granted I did not use grease, but I wouldnt chance it.

i pulled my pan

undo motor mounts raise engine drop k member down and pan will drop right out!!

time consuming but well worth it

you will have all the room to take your time and drill it right and tap it right..

i still wish someone made a steel pan for f-bodys so you can just drill and weld the fitting to the pan.

See if you can just remove the oil level sensor and use that instead of drilling into your pan. Thats what I did when my kit(incon) went on. It sets off the check engine light but that can be taken care of by ls1 edit and just check your oil every 1,000 miles to make sure it isn't low.

The oil level sensor is too low for a good gravity drain.

you could take it to a good welding shop and they can weld the aluminum, I had to do that w/ a few other custom aluminum parts, but didnt think of it when I did my pan..
