Wow, I cannot wait for the GT42-80 to arrive here, I have customer with a fullsize pickup that needs one lol. Great results I would be extremely happy with that.

Some answers that I know of. We built the turbo and some components. The rest of the car was built by a speed shop. The heads were the big AFR's., it is a BS3 controlled car. The tranny was built by D&D, and the turbo is a T6 flange unit with 5" outlet, cutout and reduced down to 3.5". to pass through the crossmember. A/R is a 1.15. We are working on a new unit to try on the car when he is ready. I don't know much other then that since I'm not with the car.

The 408 with the GT55 would make some stupid power at 29psi. The GT42-80 on a 408 would not make 29psi though however. It will not sustain that size engine.

Jose with your PTK TT C5 kit and my FMS 408ci with low compression I expect similar dyno #'s..

What trannies would hold that kind of power?

Id expect at least 1300-1500 rwhp on 29psi, on an extremely conservative end.

I made 947 rwhp at 16psi with my 408 and gt55, ****, just imagine almost 2 times as much boost.

A rossler 210... For sure...

There are a couple other extreme power cutom automatics out there... 3 speed or better so I'm not counting all the custom glides...

No ordinary 4l80e could... Maybe one thats been gutted and been given five and six pinion planetaries plus billet shafts etc... Like the 210's components..

Be ready to spend over $5000 on that trans though...... i talked to Rossler for quite a while about my choice. I went with a glide with a 1.80 first gear..... easier on a turbo compared to the 2.48 first in a th400.... give him a call.... another plus for the glide is its cheaper to build to hold the same HP as the 400.... less parts to break/fix.
