twin turbo 427
which would be a better block to have resleeved an Ls1 or and Ls2 for a twin turbo 427 setup. would ls6 head be sufficient enough to support a motor like that. not trying to go too high in hp just around 7-800. what about ls7 heads I think I read that they would bolt to a ls2 block, would I need ls7 intake also for that. thanks

If it were me, I'd go for a re-sleeved 427 LS1 with a FAST 90mm intake and some nice big ET heads.... that's jsut me... not sure about the LS7 heads myself either... any way you go, you're gonna have a monster.

Resleeved LS2. FLP did one recently with their own twin turbo setup on a Z06 and its made 750 rwhp so far on 93 octane. It was a resleeved LS2 to a 408. The sleeves in it are actually thicker than a C5R block.

don't go C5R, not since the World block is out and is a better block and is a couple grand cheaper. If your only looking for a resonable hp level, I'd get a resleeved LS1. Check out MTI for a sleeved block. for heads, get some 6.0 heads and have some porting done on them. If you get LS7 heads, your going to need a LS7 intake, those heads are different than the other LSX stuff.
You can however, save a good little chunk by going with a 402 or 408 iron block. Both are great motors, and perform just as good, if not better. The 427 tax is high.
Good luck

35x inch iron block if you're looking for cheap and reliable. Stock crank, some eagle rods and a good piston and you're easily making what you want to make.
My junk uses stock ls1 block, heads, crank, with a set of used eagle rods and a good piston and it makes pretty good steam and it is almost entirely used parts. Just spend the money on good machine work and assembly.
No sense going off the wall when you're only looking for 7-800 and the extra weight from the block is meaningless.

Well considering that stock cubed LS1s make that much with a T76 that really isn't that much...With a 427ci he could easily be over the 1000rwhp mark with what he's trying to do...So if he's "only" trying to make 7-800rwhp I would stick with a 346...There's a lot of reasons for this..One is look at all of the rotating mass that you have to spin...Plus you have to clearance the block for the throws which therefore weakens the block...It would be cheaper and more reliable to run a 346 if his goals were to make 7-800rwhp max...that would equate to a very streetable 500-600rwhp on the street which in my book is no slouch...

oh I forgot to post this isn't anf f-bdy car its an impala. 7-800 is just a figure. I would mind it make more, but I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm not looking to build a race car just a 427 tt impala. So I figured a nice streetable figure would be 7-800.
