bought shortblock instead of building myself

bought shortblock instead of building myself I called HPE to order a set of forged rods, pistons, rings and bearings for my low compression turbo build and wound up just having them ship me a shortblock. I was pretty comfortable with trying to put it together myself, but after being on the phone with Erik for half an hour, I realized that the small extra cost would go a long way. After parts, maching, etc their price was great. I am sure they will do a MUCH better job than I could have.
I went with a set of Diamond 3.905" -8.66cc inverted dome pistons, 6.125" (I think) Scat I-beam rods, Federal Mogul bearings, don't remember what rings... I think my choices were limited, ARP main studs, balanced crank and all the block work w/torque plates, etc.
I know I got some flack about using the Scat I-beam rods, but dollar for dollar I think it's perfect for my setup. I'm sticking around the stock redline and it's a nice light piece, so I'm not worried. No Winston Cup racing for me. Can't wait to get it!!

Yea, he difinitely does know his stuff. For the price it's tough to beat! This will also move my project along... although I'm in no hurry, this will get A LOT of work out of the way.
