Default PT 2, My truck manifold turbo set up is done and running!

Well we started her up and took her out for a short hop today. Checked for leaks and melting wires. Only found the starter harness was too close to the truck manifold. That was taken care of with a wire tie...gotta love those.

I'm very pleased and glad I got it done before 2006!!! Gotta thank my Dad, he was out there helping me all the way and was very supportive of yet another FI project. Pretty proud of ourselves that we did this in the driveway on ramps and on our own. The set up turned out great and fits like a glove. The DP is up higher than it was before and gave me needed ground clearance. I only bashed it once with the old phamsped kit so I shouldn't smack it now.

Its very responsive now, and quiet?? I didn't expect the exhaust to quiet down any more than it was with the old kit. My crossover pipes are nearly identical in length which was awesome, will this help performance, I don't know. They came out to be 2ft 3 inches for the passenger side and 2ft 1inch on the driver side. So the flow is pretty even, no super long pipe on one side and a short pipe on the other like it was.

No oil smoke on hard decel either

One problem popped up though, my meth kit is "leaking" meth into the intake??? I removed the power fuse and arming wire, but it still did it. So I had to clamp off the meth feedline for now. The damn meth kit has a checkvalve too...I don't know how the vacuum of the engine can be pulling fluid from the meth tank??

Now its time to start tuning it again

Completed pics in no particular order FWIW.

Happy New YEARS Fellas!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jeremy

Kev, where have you been? Its been awhile since I've seen you post. Its a STS meth kit that I got "new" from armageddon here on tech. It was great to get back in and start it up. My son was even more enthused than I was and ordered me to take him for a ride around the block...about 100 times Gotta love 2 yr olds

Blown SS, thanks and no problem, all the pics are posted for those who want to make their own truck manifold set up.

I was in Orlando for a week then Chicago for a few days, holidays.

I think the check valve is in the pump, not really up on the newer meth systems. I'm sure someone at STS will let you know the deal Tuesday

Cant wait to see how it does on the dyno, I know you got pretty frustrated with the other setup..

Cool, hope you had a good time for the holidays.

The pump has one and it has another brass check valve right before the meth nozzle. It takes some good pressure to crack it tho, I don't know what is causing the leak.

Yeah guess I have to call em on Tuesday I hate callin people.

Hopefully the frustrations are coming to an end. I was hoping for track times before dyno #'s but they aren't opening the track until March

Thanks guys

Smokin,
Yep 3 inch DP. Its 4in out of the turbo into a 3inch reducer. I can slip the DP out of the "cat" back portion at the track and run it open for some good times. I'm not going all out hp/tq wise so it'll be good enough for my goal of 10.99's(650rw should be plenty and a within reach of this turbo). I hope you get yours up and running soon as well. That'll be awesome.

The turboscreen is all me, I made it from supplies from home depot. I made a post on it a day or two ago. Its real easy and cost about 12 bucks.

Mark PM sent back And thank you sir for the props.

Turbo sits nice and high, its exactly two inches higher than where the pham kit had it placed. We made sure to move it up when doing the fab work as it was a problem area last time around. My oil drain line is now at a very nice down hill run into the pan...we cut it close to the crank pulley but it still clears nicely.

Krazy, you went turbo too? Post some pics, love to see how others did their work.

Jer,
Looks great man as always. I have my manis and other misc parts in hand. I am waiting on the cash for the turbo, then the finals phase will begin. I wanna see some "new" video of your car with this setup. After the tune is done, grab that video camera and hit the streets!!!

Nice work there !!!

Do you have the nozzle on the engine side of your TB ???

Intake vacuum will be very strong, so it would take a good check valve on the line just prior to the nozzle to prevent it sucking meth in.

Much easier to mount the nozzle before the TB, that way there shouldnt be any vacuum to try and suck meth from the tank in the first place.
