What size is the cam? is this in a 346 im assuming?

Its quite possible it might be too big, even with the a/r ratio, I guess it just depends on how much spool you like.

You're going to have a lot of lag! I'd guess you're going to be on the wrong side of the surge line for much of the powerband. Unless you're planning on spinning that thing to 9k rpm, I'd say to large.

I do not htink the exhaust wheel in those is too hard to spin. You will be ok, it will be laggy but not bad with the right converter. I would say peak boost should come on by 5000rpm. Thats not bad with a loose converter and a cam that will cary you to 7k or so.

I do believe based on a lot of research and past experience with turbo vehicles that these turbos will still be to large for my 427. I agree with ^, you won't see full boost until 5000 rpm or IMO >5000 rpm with a 350. You're going to need to spin that baby to the moon to get those turbos to spin where they need to be!

I've considered the MP T-70's for the 427, but I still think they are too big. I wish MP would produce something a hair smaller... they make nice turbos for the $.

That's what I'm thinking. Like I said above, I wish MP made something along the lines of the T66, that would save me a lot of money! Oh well, I guess I'd rather spend a little more money up front and be happy later... I'd be pissed if I had to 'wait' until 5k rpm for my turbos to spool!

Yeah, I was thinking the 61's would be a bit small for my application. The t66's are a perfect fit for me based on the maps.

BTW, nice looking project... keep us posted!

The hot side should be fine. I believe those are P-trim wheels on a .68a/r. Your problem is really going to be the cold side. The compressor side is way to big. You're going to be way over to the left on the map (surge line), unless you can spin the **** out of the motor. You certainly won't have any hot IAT issues!

What are your goals with this engine (boost and rpm)? I'm thinking the 61's that cuda mentioned would likely be a good fit for you.
