Default What power level is realistic?

If I want to run 93 octane, use an efficient intercooler, and have built the motor for boost (say 8:1 CR)?

Don't want to get too hyped up, but could this run 700hp? How high can it be boosted at that CR using pump gas?

That compression is low,so if you have a good tune and its an M6 i dont see why u couldnt make 700rwhp on 93 octane.Itd also be easier if you used ET or AFR heads because of the thicker deck,so theyll hold more boost, along with ARP studs.Like PSJ was pointing out,if it were an auto itd be alot harder.

It would be a T56, but I was referring to flywheel power anyway.

I know that boost can replace cubes, so it's probably not necessary to add loads of cubes, but still I was thinking of a 402 or 415 (LS2 with 4.125 Lunati crank).

AFR heads are one option being considered. I hadn't thought about the thicker deck, but if that's needed beyond a certain boost level then it would be added to the bill of materials.

And I don't know what A2A and A2W refer to.

you dont need anywhere near that many cubes if your only talking flywheel power. The thicker deck will definitely help you when boost is >15#s. And A2A means an Air 2 Air intercooler while A2W means Air 2 Water intercooler.

700 crank hp would be doable on pump 93 with that compression.

I favor A2A intercooling since the car is being built as a road racer. Weight is at a premium, so the extra radiator and associated hardware is something I'd rather avoid.

Am I shortchanging myself? If I build an LS2 with a Lunati rotating assembly with AFR heads set to 8:1 CR what would you expect pump gas to get me?
Can I run 15lb or more of boost from a centrifugal SC?

Thanks. It's good to know a realistic target when starting to design a system. (for cost/benefit analysis).

If the project is a go, I'll be back for more advice.
