Jose, what kind of spool time are we looking at with the S88 compared to a GT4276R? Do you think he needs to move up to more than a 4" downpipe? Looking to make 1200-1300 to the tire......

Hellbent, the S78's are all boxed up. I asked Jose what took the extra time. He said they wanted to make some improvements to the bearings to keep the shaft cooler under high EGT loads. Which for most gas engines that doesn't happen to often, but the Diesels they play with see 2000 DegF EGT's .

Evil, I don't have as much experience as Jose and Jason, but I would imagine it will be hard to tell since the GT42 is only a 76mm with an S-trim turbine, and the S88 is a full size 88mm with a turbine wheel which is bigger then a GT47, and no DBB. I would imagine 700-1000rpms slower.

What is the physical size difference between an S-88 , and a Precision GTS-76 ? What changes in plumbing would need to be done ?

I know the GT42-76 is bigger in size then the precision 76GTS.....
I know the S88 Mounts up EXACTLY the same as a GT42-76... I know because we did the swap in my car.....
Plumbing.... a T6 flange at least would need to be added to the hotparts....

The turbo uses an 88mm wheel, with monster shaft (designed for MUCHO abuse/boost). The turbine is the newer TM1 wheel. Its bigger then a GT47 turbine, but smaller then a GT55 turbine and flows like crazy. The trim on the wheel is a nice 86. The turbo itself is a mid-frame. This is the same turbo we use on our bottom turbo for our compound diesels making 100+psi.

i love that diesels can do that. i wonder what kinda gauge can read over 100 psi

That is correct, the GT42 and S-series share the same footprint. Now some of the new S-series coming out is using a different compressor cover which has a slip outlet instead of the V-band, but that doesn't really change much.

We carry diesel performance products as well, and have gauges that read 100psi

Jose and Jason are still working on it. Right now they are trying some different covers. I know they picked up 60hp by just swapping covers from a design flaw they found from the current covers we were using on the prototype S91's.
