Methanol injection?

Methanol injection? Ok, probably one of those stupid questions that everyone knows except me. I see methanol injection as an option for the STS system. What does it do and do I need it?
I will be running everything stock except STS, #42s, Walbro pump. No IC.

I would highly suggest you get it. It cools the intake charge. It allows you to run more boost and timing. It prevents detination and you can make alot of power. As much as 80hp depending on the application.
