If it's the head gasket, that'd be great... but if you did fry #7, I'd bet dollars to donuts that it was starved for fuel. I think it's generally accepted that a T67 at more than 5 psi is gonna need more than 42 lb injectors. Like on the order of 60 lb, I'd say.
Unless you were adding octane via methanol?

As I was getting ready to leave, car started to smoke some with a sweet smell (radiator fluid) comming from the exhaust. On her way home she started throwing a #7 misfire code, and temp started raising fast... So it looks like I cooked the stock block and burnt up my #7
Well so for those of you keeping tabs... that is a good mark on the wall. Was running pure 104 Unlead at 10.5 lbs. Trapping 125MPH.... and my stock block gave way.
Oh well.. now I gotta figure out what is next for her...

RW99... yea I agree I think it was a little lean. I was running pure 104 but only that... no meth.
Will... GM Mls gasket, I hope you are right, however I may still go with a forged setup. Leaning towards the 370 now.
Ford... thanks for the compliment.

ide put ahead gasket on it so you can get a good compression reading, cause you wont with a leaking gasket...if its good and you still wanna go forged...at least youll have a good motor to sell
and btw someone else asked, it would be very hard to get leaking coolant and overheating because of breaking ringlands ...near impossible acutally
you would get lots of oil smoke though...

I would have to go with head gasket also, only other way to get coolant into the cylinder would be a cracked or warped head, or cracked sleeve. I had a mishap once the wastegate snaped shut, well my guage only goes to 30 psi and toped it, only blew the head gaskets, pistons were in good shape, of course that was on my lt1. All I had to do was swap gaskets and had it driving again.

If the head gasket blows, it can overheat very fast from the leak between the combustion chamber and the coolant passage. Jared, I wish you were closer, so we could just run over and check while you were away.

Good Luck on the rebuild... but watch out, I know some people already in the 9s on the STS system and planning to go faster! Should be fun to watch though! Good Luck man... Now you got me over here praying my motor holds a little longer, I am making 603/506 at the wheels on my Procharged GTO...LOL I guess you found the threshhold for teh stock block. Cross your fingers for me!

Trak... I thinks its the old standby... fuel and tune... I wasnt quite right on either. If I only blew a gasket... I will see if we can see 650 on my stocker once I get the fuel and tune fixed (I will also be putting the new stuff in garage when its time too)

well burning coolant can only be cause by a few problems one being the head gasket as mentioned another cracked heads witch was also mentioned and the presurising of the coolent is mostly cause by cracked heads because the cylinder pressure is forced into the cooling system where as in most cases with a head gasket the cylinder pressure will be forced into another cylinder while operating. But sorry to hear the misfortune I hope I dont run into the same problem as I am attempting the same thing as you running stock blocks as low times as posible. looks as though your fuel system may be short but not the cause of this problem there is no coolent in the bottom end of the engine unless by some meracle you managed to spolit a cylinder wall verry close to the top hahahaha but anyways man taker apart before you decide on anything first hopefully its an esay fix and youll be back in business in no time.

When I was NA I lost a few head gaskets. In both cases there was a burned channel from the water passage to one of the combustion chambers. Started out losing a pint here and there to suddenly smelling like I was driving a Licorice delivery vehicle. By two weeks I had a big enough cloud to hide in.
