How much boost can a stock intake take. Just wondering how much boost can you put through a stock ls1 intake vs the ls6 or the lsx intake. Im just getting ready to purchase a manifold and dont really want a heavy aluminum one but i know that one is safe. Also does an aluminum intake strenghen the overall integrity of the engine ( just courious about block failure in high hp situations ).
I have seen the Ohio boys 403 turbo car run 8.30 with an LS6 and a stock ported throttle body . Personnaly I made 700 rwhp and the block was fine ,it just kept lifting the heads,even with Arp head studs and Cometic head gaskets. Now Im going to try to use an Iron block and AFR heads to try to keep everything sealed up.

Yep. We have been to 30.5psi on a LS6 intake with no problems. Still running that same intake on my CE at 26psi.
I have also heard of leaking LSX manifolds.That is why Im going to try a short runner sheet metal. TWNTRBOCE Have you tested any other manifolds such as a sheet metal or a GM cast manifold to see if there is any power gain or less boost loss through the twists and turns of the stock LS6. I saw pics of and elbow type setup in gm hightech. I was just wondering if there is any gain.
