Tial 38mm, or 44mm?
Roaming around on TiAL's website I couldnt find any technical specs that said "the 38mm is good until X" or "the 44mm is good for X to Y". I dont know how wastegates are rated in, be it HP, CFM, or whatever.
I appreciate any feedback you guys can give me
I was looking to max my setup at 700RW and was assured by several people (whom I trust) that a 38mm would be fine.
Ive seen Tial units have problems trying to run real low boost with a bigger turbo.....
Thats why i went with the TurboSmart 48mm WG.

I was thinking something like a T66-T77 sized turbo running 6-7psi or so.
Really whatever the bare minimum it would take to get around 500-550whp on a low boost setting and pump gas. (as a drive around on the street alot type setup)
The ability to turn it up in the future is a must, and somewhere around 700whp is probably the max out point for this application since getting much faster would result in breaking much more often. Would a 38mm work for that? I had no problems running a measly 4.5psi off of the base spring in my tial 35mm on the miata.
While we are on that tangent, any reccomendations in terms of turbo size? Something that made power from 3-6.5 would be perfect. I'm thinking closer to T77 than to T66, but other than that, A/R ratios and the like I havent a clue yet...
Thanks

That wastegate is pimp....I have the new Power gates here now. They are even bigger and badder. I will probably be using one of those on our race car.

How big is the Power gates in MM???
