Ls1 intake and stock throttle body restriction??

Ls1 intake and stock throttle body restriction?? At what point does the stock intake and a ported stock throttle body become a restiction under boost.If its not a restriction then why are people switching to sheet metal and victolr jr. type intakes. I would like to know what you guys think.
