Default Installed the ATI D1SC? Come inside...

OK, what was your experience?

My mechanical proficiency hasn't been pushed past changing spark plugs, helping with headers, and replacing the drivers side window motor. Is installing this thing practical for a casual shade tree mechanic, or am I asking for trouble? The in tank fuel pump deal kind of worries me, but I understand that there is an out of tank option as well. The other source of worry is the crank dampner, sounds difficult...

Are there instructions on the web?

You certainly could install the in line fuel pump instead of replacing the in tank pump. ATI's instructions are pretty good, and what you receive is a large wood crate that has sub assemblies in plastic bags that are marked. If you can put together a piece of Souder furniture, you can install an ATI ProCharger on an F Body. I have quite a few installed pic's on my website in the project car section, which may help you out. Bob

On a 1 to 10 scale of working on a car, 10 being the hardest, a LS1 F-body procharger is about a three. Good set of hand tools, 3/8, 1/8 and 1/4" drill bit and a little commin sense is all that is needed. The crank bolt is a pain but you have an M6 so its easie then an A4. I highly recomment pinning the balancer, you dont even have to take the damper off, just drill a hole with a fixture and slide a pin in there.

All of those hoses look pretty scary but once you start putting everything together it all falls together pretty easy. Just take your time and read the instructions, there is no fabrication involved, it all just bolts on. I would say if you can do a window motor you can do it w/o a problem
