HAHA!i remember that i leaned against a wall and left a swirl mark from all the tranny fluid!I was covered in tranny fluid and you were flirting with your G/F's friend!good times!

Oh i just got off the phone with harland sharp.Basically,the majority of ones that have been having trouble were with aftermarket heads,and they were revised in 03 to help stop this.He said just after the first real oil change or 1000 miles,pull the covers and have a look.If theres no signs of real wear then i wont have a problem with them.

 

FYI...I have 5.3 truck heads not aftermarket. I was told directly from Harland Sharp (Randy Jr.) that GM's castings on the LS1 style heads was probably the cause of the extra side load on the rockers...I would check them very closely at your first oil change or second one (1000 mi) and check for any wear. If you look at them straight on in pairs its usually the outside of each rocker body that shows the wear from the rollers. Good Luck!!

 

Yeah thats who i talked to (Randy Jr).He said make sure the lash is right and there arent any valve problems and check at the first 1000miles and if it looks ok then im good to go.

 

i thought you were in the not ranked section of the 06 list like I was last year since i never got any passes made. I meant u'll soon be ready to get ranked (up high hopefully) on the 06 boosted list cuz i know you've been wanting to do that for awhile

defintely got that right,i would like to be ranked....but with a stock 10 bolt and 245/18's i doubt ill be ranked very high,lol.I might not be dead last but thatll be cause somebodys running low boost on a stock bottom end,hehehe Honestly,ill just be happy to be ranked.

 

honestly.. with the way he drives.. and i'm not being a dick.. i pulled his heads once and he had valve contact on EVERY piston.. he drives hard.. i would pull covers every oil change.. i know i do..

thatll be next on the list,is to try and achieve some sort of traction down the road...im gonna see if the car will go from 13's....to 11's....to 9's and just skip the other numbers in between,lol.And Mikes not the reason i own the car....he did find it in autotrader and helped me go look at it,but the title says me and dad went with me to get it since i couldnt drive stick at the time,lol
