Default Procharger on stock LS1 engine?

Is it a good idea to install a procharger p1sc with 10 psi on a stock LS1 engine. Some guy at a speed shop told me that it will fry the bottom end and 7psi should be the max. What do you guys recomend. Also along with the obvious upgrades to handle the increased hp (headers, rear end, tq arm, sub frame connectors,...) is their any need to beef up the M6 tranny or keep it stock. How would I do this is there a kit or do I need a t56.This would be the extent of my mods as about 450ish rwhp is plenty for me.

Any supporting mods im missing let me know.
Thanks

Do a search about it. You can run 8psi all day long on a stock bottem end. From what the experts say once you reach around 500rwhp this is the limit of the stock bottem end. I have a stock stuff and have been running 8psi for about 2 years now with no problems.

Forgot to mention that I do have a Moser 12bolt, different driveshaft, valvetrain upgrade, fuel pump, ported oil pump and some other small things. Its all the small stuff that gets expensive. Just make sure you have all your base's covered. The weakest link in my car is the tranny at the moment. That is going to be adressed when I get back the the states.

We set up the cars in my shop for 8 psi of boost for cars with stock bottom ends. This will give you plenty of reliable horsepower, at least until you get use to it... Everyone (including me) always wants more! The tranny can indeed be beefed up, but it is not usually necessary unless you are running at the track often. A good clutch will be needed, sooner or later. We sell and install a lot of the Spec clutches. The new Spec Stage 3+ works out very well, and doesn't have a long shuddering break in period like the Stage 3 does. Bob

I'm gonna run 8-9 psi on the stock bottom for a year. Then up the boost. It will be fine.

It will depend a lot on how you treat it as well. A good tune is a MUST it will make you or brake you. I have been at 9psi and over 500 for over a year now with no problems.
