What is the P/N for the tr6's? Is it 4177? I was running the AR3910's but they load up pretty easily and they're twice as expensive as the tr6's...and no one seems to have problems with the tr6's (I'm running stock heads) so I think I want to go that route.

When my All Pro heads show up, I'll compare TR8's with 3911's.

ltl, the 3910 is a really really cold plug.. 3 heat ranges colder than the tr-6. but i agree that if you have stock cone seat heads that is the plug i would run.

tr-8 and 3911 are probably pretty darn close, exept the tr8 has a full tip and a cone seat.

anyways the new plugs work, but no better than the 3911's i was hoping were worn out. oh well trying something else now..

maybe get the valvesprings checked, maybe get someone else to try my injectors..maybe buy injectors.. maybe throw some money at a new cam/crank sensor

Are you saying to run the 3910's or the tr6's? I was planning on sticking with the tr6's since I've seen a lot of guys including yourself have good luck with them...and I am not pushing my setup very hard for awhile.

im saying you should be great with the tr06 but since you've been running a much colder plug than that (the 3910) just keep your ears open, i dont know how agressive you have it tuned.

Just for the record...The box does not say TR-8 on them....It will say TR-6 on the 4177 box however. You are giving misleading information. I may be wrong here but I also do not run anything that says TR in front of a number. TR=Terrible Race...IE extended tip plugs. I use the recessed porcelain style plugs with gasket seats. Part number for them is this: R5671A-8

you will likely have some trouble starting the new set of plugs now that the threads are smashed from the taper seat... who didn't tell you?

THey make spark plug thread chasers...takes about 15-20 minutes to chase all the threads.

Maybe I missed it, but I didnt see anyone talk about the BR7EF NGK plug. I run this one alot with high nitrous and blower cars. Works awsome.

Bob didn't tell me about having to use gasket plugs. The heads are fine and I ordered the (7173) from summit last night along with a few other parts...

Which heads require gasketed plugs, and why? What does the gasket do?

if the head has a tapered cone seat where the plug goes... it uses the tapered plugs like TR6s. the tapered cone is how it seals.. like an AN fitting.

if the head has a flat surface, perpendicular to the plug threads, then it uses a compression gasket spark plug... the gasket crushes to seal the plug...
