Default New custom turbo

Hey guys thought I would post this up.I recieved my new custom turbo from Jose and Jason at Forcedinductions.com.Sorry for the picture quality since its a video camera taking stills. This is going on one of my race trucks and buying another for our race car!!!

The trick about this turbo is the compressor wheel. Its a custom full forged billet machine wheel, no casted wheel .I must say the wait was well worth it. Damn the wheel is light and just blings. The pictures don't do it justice.I hate to put the compressor cover back on,which by the way is a hybrid piece as well.I spoke to jason and he said they have designed some new larger wheels already.Up to 90mm I believe . These guys are the poop

I have the new compressor cover next to a standard GT42....GT42 is on the left.

so its going in the gt42 unit, if they can get that all the way up to 90mm, no reason to really buy the gt4788.

or if they can get the gt4276 all the way to 90, just think what they could do with the 4788.

jose and his crew are amazing at this "turbo" stuff

Ed,I ask Jose about going bigger on the GT42.He said the largest they can go is 81mm. They said they have gone larger to test it,but he mentioned something about compressor inducer vs turbine exducer ratio being to much or something like that,so the maximum they will go is 80 on a gasonline car.I blew my GT42 up and sent it to them for a rebuild and when I got it back the shaft broke again.Jason told me the GT42 wouldn't hold with big boost on a compound setup(shaft to small)......should have listened the first time..haha.As for this being a GT42, its not. The compressor cover on the left is a GT42 (old unit), but my custom cover is on the right...bigger cover. Not sure what they call that turbo yet. I don't think they have named it quite yet.Cutting edge stuff though.Heck they are doing the R&D for some of the big name companies i believe,so they must know soemthing about turbo...haha. I will be seeing them soon again to see what they are cooking up.

No its not, this is another series they have now to compliment the S-series.The turbine side on this turbo is smaller. Its bigger then the GTS though ,but designed for quick boost over top end lag monster. Its a turbo that is best of both worlds so to speak. This unit I ordered it as a 70mm to replace my GT4202.I can't wait to see their 86mm version big frame and 90.I know they have a new prototype titanium wheel for the smaller units I believe its like a 60mm. That would be awesome to see as a 88 or something large.

No these units are complete.I don't think the parts will swap back and forth, but I could be wrong.I will assemble the turbo and take some pictures of it.I asked for an internally gate housing for this unit and they were able to get me a housing and custom machine it.Looks killer. They have nonwastegated housings as well for it I believe. As for pricing I paid 1599+ shipping for it.

Is it a 70mm or 71mm??

The 70mm billet wheels were banned from some buick classes more than 2 years ago when the racers first saw them. They are awesome to look at.

The cast iron backing plate on the 40 and 42 makes them weigh as much or more than the aluminum backing plate on the 101 that I have at the shop. Of course CF would be interesting to see.

We are going to test and try them...not sure how they will work. My biggest fear is flex under high pressure ratios.

Why not make a composite aluminum impregnated CF. You build the core out of a hollowed out wafer of Aluminum and then layer it in the CF. Of course that's all patented.

We are also looking at using Nylon 66. Same material as the LS1 intakes.
