What are the typical gains that come from a 8psi?

i have a turbo cam 232/228 on 115lsa
lq9 heads and supporting mods



goal is 550/rhp/rtq

where can I get a 8psi spring????/to serve as a boost controller

9-10 psi got me 540 on a stock bottom end and 6l heads. you should be close

divide your n/a hp by 17, times that by the pounds of boost, then add your n/a number.

ie. 350 hp n/a on 12#'s

350/17 = 20.5X12 = 247+350 = 597

I'm not sure that's a "scientifically" proven formula. I saw another guy try to say that if you divide your N/A power by 14.7 (1 bar) then multiply that number by your boost + N/A power = Horsepower.

I don't think either one is correct. Everyone knows as well as I do that the LS1 engine much like any other engine is going to vary in power and vary with out it takes power adders...ie, turbo, intake, exhaust...etc.

no, it's not exact, because every type of forced induction has differant paricitic loss. in a perferct world, it would be 14.7 yes, but you have to figure in paricitic loss, which is higher for superchargers than turbos, but both still have loss. it is just a close guess going with the extra 2.3.
