For me, I'm paying for the convenience. Screw stripping your car apart, not being able to drive it for weeks only to get all the piping back from some schmuck who claims to know how to do it and it doesn't fit right...so you find yourself compromising clearance, your character because of all the swear words you'll be using...etc. $2.5k for a true DIY for me = Good price, but possible horrible frustration, a lot of down time and extra time/money spent on something you'll probably do wrong anways. Paying $5k for it all to work right and something you can do over 1 weekend...I'm ALL FOR THAT! Seriously, what is ya'lls time and peace of mind worth? Mine is worth more than the extra $2.5k I'll have to pay.
Preach on preacher!!

I completely agree with this statement. And $5k for a complete turbo setup is not that expensive at all. But I am curious what you mean by full fuel system, and which turbo was included in this package?

Sorry, just meant the injectors and fuel pump upgrade to compensate for the BOOOOOSSTT. I'm thinking for $5k, it was the "stage 2" setup. If I never plan on going more than 500+ hp, do I really need a turbo bigger than the T67?

Dave, that is with the 60-1, but it also has Patriot Gold dual springs with titanitum retainers, a couple of Autometer gauges and pod. Another 400 will get you the 67 upgrade.
That price is shipped too.

You could just use a Talon/Eclipse BOV from the junkyard for $5. Or buy it on Ebay for $20-$40.

Do it your self and save at LEAST 2-3000 depending on what you purchase.
Every single part for the STS kit can be found with the exception of the piping which has to be fabbed. If you got that kind of money then spend right away! Peace of mind is always great to have, but I would sooner line my pockets with the savings.

Well that's one thing, but it's not the only thing.... an uncontrolled gate will vent early in 'anticipation' and bleed off boost early (crack point). You will lose torque. The controller will hold back the vacuum signal from the gate until your setpoint so that when it's time to open, it opens all at once.
