You could keep the 88 you have right now and learn how to drive a fast car, then upgrade to a bigger one when you get comfortable.

You could sell your 88 real quick like on your site without losing much money when the time comes to upgrade.

I plan on running a 94 right now and will put a 101 on after I get 50-60 passes in,or when I get bored with 7.40's.

I hear that a big turbo and little tire can be a handful to drive, especially for someone not used to it.

1000rwhp with a 3400 raceweight will be a lot of fun. Your 96's will support 1000rwhp, just starting to get maxed out.

My turbo can make more power, but I'm not looking to push it that hard for a while since I don't want to find the limits of my shortblock early in the season... Plus the sub 8.49 cage rules require a bit of reworking for me.

Jonathan,I think you meant to quote me.I don't have a passenger seat in the SS.

You'd probably chit yourself by the top of 2nd gear anyway.

I believe slowhawk has been watching the back pressure...i think thats why he wanted to go with this intake first and then address it further if we have too. It could have been fluttering the rings at one point...he can chime in on this one. It was explained to me long ago but i try an forget the horror ANd yep this is full optioned car with seats and everything else it came with. Shes a fat bitch

Addressing bacpressure starts on the exhaust side. Making the engine breathe even better will make it worse actually. The further the PR gets away from 1:1 the worse it will get and the more hp you will lose.

I believe Brent over on turbomustangs.com make a bit over 1200 rwhp on his Majestic T4 88 302 combo, with a 5-speed though. Not sure on all the specs of the Majestic and he is way smaller on the cubes, so maybe my post is irrelevant!

Okay, back to my original question. Anyone actually racing their PT88 cars, or just dyno racers?

Brent is running a TV series 88 with a T6, not T4 last I checked. Its based on the TV81. We built one for one of the TM members using the same core. Turbo is nice and will make some power. Also is made 1049rwhp...

BTW - 88mm is the size of the wheel, the case its in can vary in size (within reason). Obviously, the bigger the turbo the higher the ceiling, but there are exceptions. You have the money I think...call Jose and just have him build you one.
I agree with Ryan, just hit the 91 and go crazy.

You made me doubt myself so I had to go dig it up! Almost 1200 rwhp on a T4 88, but not quite!

Sorry Tony, back on topic now!
