Default My sts goes 11.33

I am going to post a video in a day or 2(my buddy got the vid). I went to the track yesterday and was running consistent 11.4s. My stupid self had the breakend tune where the rev limiter was set for 6200(you will here in the video me bouncing off it on the 1/8 mile), but i did not have edit there. Which I need to raise to at least 6800. My 60s were like 2.0(suck ***). And it felt like lag not traction. My setup is a lowcomp 408 and 76gts turbo. I think I need to move down to a 70. Also my tranny held up and shifted great. It was built by a non-sponsor. I was afraid of that breaking. It shifted great(3500 stall). I need to figure out how to get this thing to launch good. I have the whole gambit of suspension parts. Ill also post the vid of me destroying a whipple charged cobra would of been worse If I am not bouncing off the limiter. But to make a long story short should i move down turbo size or what. That is on 10lbs of boost

i would get a two step and try and add a little timing down low to help build some boost, or spray a 50 shot out of the hole.

Depending on your car weight and what RPM/boost you're launching at, you may just need to try and hold more boost while on the line.

I hit 11.5 off idle passes. I have a 2-step but not installed in the car. I have really no one in the area who knows alot about these cars so this forum has been a god send and alot of the people I have taked on the phone. Forcedinductions.com, TRT, and Kartech thankv you for talking to me and being patient. My tuner has done a good job on my tunes. I have launched at 2k. I swapped from a eboost1 to a 2 at the track so wanted to see how well it managed the boost so kept it at 10lbs. I was thinking of spraying out the hole to. The car has ez tens in it with the rev limiter up so I am completely happy with it.my a/f is a 11.0 across the board. I datalogged those on dyno and track to be sure of the tune. I am confused on the BS3 mod but yet to really talk to anyone about it since I have a 98 formula. I was amazed at the tranny on how smooth it was. I am also scared of the back pressure if you boost to 15lbs with no catch can so Ill be adding that soon. Also my car is a full weight car no gutting except for spare. I even have a front sway bar on.

I'm not sure, but it seems like you have an auto??

If auto, get a converter. If what you were saying was that you have a 3500 stall converter, hold it up there, and let it rip.

If M6, the 2 step will help a lot. On my stock motor, and very little suspension work, I was hitting 1.8 60's, with not such a great tune, and boggin off the line. I think, with some tweaking, I could have hot 1.6x 60's at that time. Good runs though, how do you have it tuned? 2 bar?

I think you need to stay with the 76, I think you'll like it a lot more once you get the launching stuff down. With a 408 pushing a lot of air, I think you'll need the 76.

Well, I changed mine over, and it was really easy. I got a 2 bar map, which was a gm part, sorry I don't have the part # though. I think it's from a cobalt SS, all I had to do was shave off one side of the sensor, just had 2 clips. Plugged it in, and installed the 2 bar operating system...that was it. BUT, I've heard that it isn't available for 98's...at least not from HPT. But don't quote me on that, I could be wrong.

But, boost that bad boy up, and let 'er rip!! j/k, I've been taking it slow myself, don't want to blow anything up either. Good luck.

Not to burst your bubble dude, but if you arent running 9's on a 408 with a 76mm turbo, then something is seriously wrong. I went 10.79@128 on a STOCK 346 (TR 224 cam) and on a 67mm @8.5psi on pump gas. Race weight 3774.

Cut the guy some slack. It sounds like the 1st time at the track with the new setup. If he is not familiar with turbos it will take some time and experience for it to reach its full potential.

I wasn't trying to be a dick, I was just trying to make him realize the potential of the car......btw, my 10.79 pass was the first time at the track with my setup too. Not everyone uses that excuse
