Default Exhaust for Blown Stroker Combo?

I am getting things together for my new combo. I am looking @ going with 1 7/8" stepped to 2" headers. Just wondering what exhaust has the best flowing characteristics for this type of setup. I was looking @ going with the 4" mufflex system with dual outs and have read that this setup does not flow well with the spintech muffler. I need to have the dual outs to fill the voids in the Trams Am bumper.

I do not wish to go with cutouts @ this time. (Mainly because I want to keep my tune consistent and not need to change the tune when I uncap the exhaust)

Would appreciate input from members with this (or with experience with) type of setup.

BTW, I currently have SLP longtubes ,3" Y, cats eliminated and stock firehawk exhaust. I have read the thread from Bob @ EPP and they put down some serious #'s with a similar setup, but am curious as to what the best setup would be.

Thanks

What mufflers are available that flow well with the 4" in and dual outs?

I checked their site didn't see anything on individual mufflers. Been looking through the summit site and going through like 900 items.

Seeing lots of ricer stuff 2.5" into 4"

I did find this so far tho

It looks kinda cool not sure what the clearance would be like tho. It would be a bad deal to cut up a set of kooks to make them work.

Default Would this fit?

This might be better maybe.

The O.D. is 6.5 inches probably too big to fit under the car.

Might be able to work them into the back of the car maybe.

Just thinkin

Sorry I was considering how well it would work to fit these items into the Y pipe and Mufflex 4" system w/o the spintech muffler and maybe t the pipe in back for the dual outlets.

I would rather not have it too loud. Just enough to sound like it means business.

I don't mind doing a little fabrication. I have the tools for it. @ least the basic stuff welder etc.

I would just call mufflex and they would know your options on a 4" in dual 3" out crossmount muffler since they sell the 4" system. Let us know your options.

Called em today said they have a magnaflow straight through muffler llike the flowmaster setup and it is loud as hell. Also you would have to buy the pipe complete with flowmaster and reattach the magnaflow. The only option for 4" in and dual outs is the spintech.

I did find some mufflers that are not any larger than the cats.

Do you think it would be redundant to put these mufflers in place of the cats
(two 3.5 in. mufflers) and then maybe a 4" muffler down stream in the 4" I pipe or even out the back? Would a setup like this flow well or like .

Or would it still be loud as hell?

Just look into getting true duals. Nothing flows better besides open headers and I'm sure you don't want to go that route. If you're worried about loudness, don't use bullets, use something like magnaflow race mufflers.

Like so three inch duals with dumps.

I have run a lot of exhaust combos, and one was:

422ci stroker
NA
Long tubes
4" Mufflex

I tried a few different mufflers on the Mufflex, and I last ran a Dynomax Ultraflow welded. But if Magnaflow makes a 4" muffle I'd use that. It's loud but out the back.

Those mufflers in ur pics, if you dump them below the car before the rearend, that will be loud.

The only 4" muffler I would consider running for a blower or a turbo is one you can see through. Any sort of chambered muffler will be a restriction.

Unfortunately the mufflers best for performance are the loudest.

It will be a street car mostly. Occassional trips to the track. I am planning a 427 running the D1SC. (I may upgrade to the F1 in the future but I need to get the motor done first) As long as I reach my goal of 725 rwhp I will be happy.

I don't mind having a car that sounds a little grumpy. I do love the sound of a race exhaust system but I do want to be able to enjoy a cruise with my wife and hear the sound system.

I am curious what you guys think of multiple (3) Straight Through Mufflers under the car. Two 3.5 inch in the Y pipe and one 4" in the intermediate pipe or near the back of the car. Would it still flow well and would the sound of the exhaust be reduced significantly compared to a single 4" straight through muffler.

I personally think it would flow well, and it would be much quieter. But, thinkin it and bein are of course two different animals.

The thing to do would be try it and see but I hate to put 1K (roughly not including my blood sweat and tears) in an exhaust system that doesn't do what I want it to.
