10# of boost safe on10.9:1 engine??

The additional amount of timing retard that this would require would come close to negating the amount of gain of going from, lets say, 6 to 10 Lbs of boost. To me it would'nt be worth the risk but water injection would help reduce it.
so you guys dont believe that the twin intercooled supercharger kit will handle the task of keeping it safe? i know bob from exotic performance plus said i would be fine with the 7 pounds of boost and the intercooled procharger kit. he said they run 7 pounds on ls2's all the time, which have 11:1 compression ratio.....any thoughts?

oh ok, so the same as my setup now..... he tells me they run 7 pounds on them all the time, no problem so im guessing it should be good. he's pretty experienced in my eyes.

You're going to be really pushing it if you go over 7# of boost. Life expectancy of your engine is going to be limited depending on your driving habits. Ever thought of just spraying? Spraying a higher compression engine like yours will be a lot safer with all of the safe windows of applications now.

sandro: not to bash, but before you even get your stuff ordered, read through a lot of these threads... you'll learn A LOT in here over a few months.. Personally I wouldn't go with high CR and 10#'s, even with a forged bottom. A FMIC would help, but if you're running a moderate amount of timing, there's the possibility of seeing some KR (knock retard- bad) on a hot day or something.. It's seriously not worth the risk, and you'll be shelling out more cash... UNLESS you're one of the lucky folks.
If you're set on high CR with 7+ psi, then I'd be safe and get a meth setup. Personally, I wouldn't ever be in the situation where I would need a meth setup (I don't like the whole idea of having to refill anything, other than my gas tank). Meth is VERY effective and people can claim that meth is about 120 octane. Meth mixed with 91 should keep you clear of nasty KR problems, but still you have to make sure your car as the meth to inject.
I don't see what the big hype is about high CR with boost is, honestly... A full point of CR won't set you back that much. To compensate, you can add some timing back in. It's just not worth the risk in my opinion... Stick around a while and read up on some things... ask questions, and then make your decision.

This is very basic but you can run 10lbs on a forged 346 IF the Cam is cut for it,pump gas of course.
Also if this forged bottom end was built for NA the pistons might not last under boost

thanks guys for all the good input but as mahhddgtp said, "I don't like the whole idea of having to refill anything, other than my gas tank." i dont like to refill anything either and the boost is there when you want it. i am a little scared but bob at EPP tells me they run it on ls2's with the same compression ratio so this does give me some reassurance. i will still think about it but thanks again guys. any more info is appreciated,.
