Default Dump after turbo

Are there any gains to be had from duping the exhaust after the turbo??

I have a phamspeed kit and was thinking of just dumping the exhaust after the turbo with no catback or anything like that. Will that be smart or is there anything I am not thinking of??

Also how loud is it going to be, I dont want it to be loud....

it will be loud. even with a bullet muffler after the downpipe it will be pretty loud. try and find some sort of muffler thats not straight through.

It will be loud.

I still think the gains far outweigh the added noise.

How loud is loud?
I am hoping to keep it as loud as a magnaflow muffler. I like the idea of not running any pipes to the back, plus I dont have to pay a an exhaust shop to install the muffler for me. Is there a link were I can hear one, I know the sts is not that loud...

Watching the video it doesn't appear to be too loud. I have a hooker catback exhaust to go along with my turbo kit but if it sound like that i dont think I am going to install it. I imagine with the car on the floor it will sound louder, what should I do???

you could always just add a cutout, should pick up about 60-80rwhp with that and be able to keep it quiet when you want it, and have the same gains as just dumping it.

hey smokin, I dont mean to hijack this thread, but if you were to add a cutout to bypass a catback, would you throw off the tune at all with the cutout open?

my car with dual 2.5" down pipes was loud. not as loud as straight headers though but loud enough that im going to be buying a magnaflow here in a couple days.

by the way, i had a hooker aerochamber on my setup and it was extrememly quiet, actually to quiet. it sounded totally stock and i want to make some noise.

i think it goes a little leaner, but not to much. its best to tune it with the cutout open, then capping it up youll be a tad richer.

I had an after vid, but I can't find it. Its about half as loud...even a lil more with the magnaflow. She got very quiet after the cat back went on.
