10bolt vs turbo?

Default 10bolt vs turbo?

i have been looking into getting an sts kit for my 99 ss very soon here, but still doing all the reasearch on turbo's and sts kits and such. i think i got everything down but had a question about the stock 10 bolt holding up to the boost (8psi) with some drag radials on the car. i have found 1 car on the boosted list with an auto running the stock 10bolt and claming 10's. i know that is a little different than the m6 but just trying to figure out if an 11 sec pass with the stock 10bolt will kill it, or if i would be ok?

my 10 bolt some how has lived at 700 rwhp... well see with the new setup how long ti goes for.

wow! yea i know n/a the rear would get killed quick but i think turbo is prob a little better for it.... i am prob just gonna hold off and bring a trailer out to the track the first couple times...

i got about a mth till i have all my money together for this so who knows.

Do it, once you go turbo you'll never look back. Of course, you can always take it easy on your car until you save up for either a 12-bolt of F'urd 9 inch axle.

yea that was my other plan... than i can save a couple grand off the bat and make sure i have enought money to do the turbo "right"

Take a look at our "truck manifold" kits under the LS1 link on our site. They are inexpensive and offer the strength and reliability of a strong, good flowing cast manifold.
You can also buy the kit in stages. You can, at first, get the Eco-Street Zone kit, run moderate boost, then upgrade to the Street-Zone kit for a little more when you're ready to turn up the boost.

i will check them out....as of right now i am looking into getting a sts kit from trt but i sent them a pm a while ago and no ans yet i will check out what you have to offer and let you know... be looking out for a pm from me.

my thoughts excatly cuz you'll adventually want a 12-bolt(8.87in) or Ford 9in...

I was putting down over 700 last year and on a 10 bolt with a detroit locker diff, just don't put stickey tires on it and it seems fine to me, I was also not flashing the converter, just rolled onto the throttle
