It will hit a wall. Then you will see the backpressure rise exponentially, very quickly.

im not saying ur wrong. but. when i went to the track i was on the limiter for about a second......keeping my mph down alot. the cutout had broken shut. that makes a HUGGGE difference as i only have a 3" catback. it was also rich as hell. that doesnt even mention my bald dr's and shitty 1/8th. i am beyond confident this turbo will see 150s. maybe without more boost

Yep, with the 76GTS on 360 cid, I pulled 143 mph at 16 psi boost in a full weight F-body with a TH350. Actually, full stock weight + roll bar + turbo + water intercooler + water reservoir and 17" rims up front. My converter was flashing to 5400 rpm, but I just put my new one in, so I expect further improvements. Also, I'm running a log header and "crappy" blower cam.

Question can you fit anything bigger than a 76 on a LS1 ptk kit. I know its tight with the 76, but how tight. Wondering if you got to cut the Rad support to fit a 88. Jose very interested

I looked at MMs t4 flanged 88 and if you had no AC it would be easier, but yah, you need to move that radiator forward to get it to bolt up.

Sounds like you are pulling the motor Steve. I already pulled my AC. Thats what I have TTops for. We live in VA not TX or NV. So I dont think I have the problem of needing my AC. I am going to run the 76 til I get the set up figured out. I had made plans to cut the support already. Figuring my 408 would amx out the 76. Hey if you come across a fragged 4L80E Let a brother know. Let me know.

Haha, no prob, although I'm not past scooping it up for myself yet either

...and NO I am DEFINITELY not pulling the motor... as a matter of fact I drove the car to work this morning for the first time in 11 months!! I still have some fuel issues but I have the car running at 8psi and about 12.5-13 degrees of actual timing. My AFR at WOT is still a bit fat, 9.9:1 (buried) as it spools and about 10.2:1 at full boost, but hey it's running and I can drive it around. I've got around 300-325 miles on this engine.

On the PTS LS1 kit, I don't think anyone has tried to go bigger then a 76mm. I know the Gen 1 LT1 kit was designed for up to a 76GTS, and Jose put a PT88 in without a hitch. So the LS1 kit may do it as well.

Move the radiator forward at the bottom, my 76GTS is 1/16" away from it now (compressor obviously).... so the radiator will have to move at the bottom by the difference in the radius of those 2 units plus prolly an inch to take into account that it's angled and the turbo isn't at the VERY bottom.

Wow, that is very tight. It looks like a 1/4 to 1/2 of space on each side.

Damn after looking at how close that 76GTS is to the Radiator, how the hell did Joel Get the S-88 turbo to fit in pretty much the same location with the OFI Kit???

PT88 compressor cover is the same size, so only the exhaust will be larger. It may fit then....hmm

DrTurbo, do you have a pic of the S-85 Turbo? Would just like to see it in comparison. This will definately be interesting when I try to install the OFI Kit with the S-85 unit, sorry Frost not trying to steal your Thread.... Thanks

Glad to hear that it is working out for you. Do you foresee any problems that may come about with the turbo being so close to the Radiator and Compressor?

So have you had it dynoed yet? What are you waiting for to make your a/f more lean?

Your gonna foul out your plugs and o2 sensors if you keep running it like that though

After pulling the M6 to replace the rear seal I am geting a code for both knock sensors so I think something happened to the cable in the back. The default response for these codes is pulling full KR whenever the car goes into PE, so KR response is set to 0deg until I get that fixed. In the meantime I am keeping it SAFE. It's only PE that's rich. Part throttle tune and idle look good and I don't drive around WOT everywhere I go so I should be ok on the O2 front. I don't have enough fuel to really turn things up so the dyno is pointless right now too.

I'm just REALLY busy.... been out of town for 5 weeks, was out for the weekend until last night, and I'm leaving tomorrow AM for another week for work. I just have to do it as I can get to it, I'm not really "waiting for" anything but some free time.
